Sorry Patty that you’re having so many problems with the printer. As I indicated, I relied on my techy PC savvy teen toy testers to do the computer aspect of setting it up. I’m such a MAC person, that the thought of a PC only toy makes me anxious….but I decided to try it despite the PC only application. The alignment took us about three times to get it right–I was putting my finger in too far if that’s of any help. Once I got that corrected, we got the alignment issues resolved.

I got the Barbie Digital Printer for $150.00 through ToysRUs online which was great. My daughters (twins) were so excited to get this for their birthday in the first part of December, but I have never been able to get it to work. First it wouldn’t print because the printer was busy as soon as I did one test alignment print. Now I uninstalled and reinstalled and it won’t recognize the printer at all!! Grrrr!! A month after getting it and I STILL can’t get the darn thing to work right. What a waste!

Not yet. We had to enlist my son’s PC to test it out…we’re all MAC here too. I see that TRU is offering a “spray on” nail salon. Not the same thing by any means…but may satisfy younger kids. I’m going to request it for testing.

Thanks for the info. Have you seen any other toy comparable that will work on a mac? I’ve searched all over but can’t find anything that will print designs.

It is PC only. If you want to run it on a mac you might try boot camp or parallels, but even then there is no promise it will work as there are driver issues.

When the toysrus big wish book christmas thing came out. They had it on sale for 150 or so I got mine then. Can’t wait to use it.

Hi Kathy:

Mattel let us know that the Machine is PC compatible only. I guess if you have an Intel MAC there may be a way…but I’m completely out of my comfort zone.

I just spent forever installing Microsoft Office and Microsoft Expression because someone told me if I do that this product will work on my mac. Do you know if this is true? This is all my daughter wants for Christmas…I have to figure how to use the mac with it!
